Marcus Reese brings over a decade of experience in the areas of public affairs, strategic communications, campaign management, crisis communications and media training.
Marcus has managed and executed several political, issue advocacy and public policy campaigns including medical malpractice reform, entitlement reform, tax reform, Donovan for NY Attorney General, Steele for MD Senate, the Bush/Cheney re-election campaign and Barnes for GA Governor. In his capacity at Tusk Strategies, he is responsible for managing government relations for corporate clients and issue advocacy campaigns for a number of causes.
Prior to Tusk Strategies, Marcus served as Vice President for the Corporate Issues team at Weber Shandwick, where he was responsible for providing strategic and crisis communications counsel to corporate and government clients such as Pepsi, Unilever, Exxon, Honeywell, Revel Entertainment, The City of New Orleans (in regards to communications response to the BP oil spill) and Baker Hostetler (Madoff case).
Before joining Weber Shandwick, Marcus served as a Senior Public Relations Manager at Impact Strategies. While at Impact, he provided crisis communications counsel for elected officials, attorneys and executives. He holds a B.A. in Corporate Journalism from Auburn University. Marcus was named to City Hall News’ Rising Stars 40 under 40.
