Prior to joining Tusk, Haley served as Deputy Policy Director for New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Senior Advisor for Infrastructure and Hazard Mitigation at the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery.
Before working for New York State, Haley was appointed to Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Special Initiative for Rebuilding and Resiliency, where she developed the long-term recovery plan for South Queens after Superstorm Sandy. She also worked for Bloomberg Philanthropies, collaborating with staff to launch their Government Innovation focus area, designed to support new approaches to improving performance and efficiency in local government. Later, she was seconded to former Lieutenant Governor Richard Ravitch and former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker to work on a study of the budgetary practices and fiscal conditions of U.S. states.
Haley began her career working for the City of New York at the Department of Homeless Services, and went on to serve as Deputy Director for Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Transportation where she worked to craft and implement state and local laws, inter-agency initiatives and major infrastructure and economic development projects.
Haley graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park and received a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the CUNY Graduate Center. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York and currently resides in Manhattan.
