Matthew Yale

Matthew serves as the day-to-day lead on client service, regulatory engagement, and strategic counsel for Tusk clients.

Prior to his current role, Matthew was the Senior Vice President of global communications and public affairs, at Laureate Education, Inc. Laureate is the world’s largest higher education company with more than 1,000,000 students and a network of 80 campus-based and online institutions in 29 countries. Matthew successfully oversaw all internal and external communications, public relations, public affairs and strategic outcomes analysis and research initiatives for the global organization.

Prior to joining Laureate in March 2011, Matthew served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Education. In this capacity, he served as a senior advisor to the Secretary on policy and strategic planning and held general management responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the 4,200 person Department.

Before joining the Obama Administration, Matthew worked at Ariel Investments from April 2001 through January 2009. As Vice President of Public Affairs, he directed the firm’s civic, government, and political affairs. Prior to his work at Ariel Investments, Matthew worked as an analyst for the Chicago based investment banking firm Billow Butler & Company.

Matthew earned his BA in Political Science from Northwestern University and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Matthew is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He lives in Miami, Florida with his wife Debra and two children.
