Melissa focuses on assessing client needs and developing the specific campaign strategies tailored to achieving a client’s goals.
She is responsible for designing and managing the execution of various campaign elements including creating new and/or shaping existing brands, developing a comprehensive communications and messaging strategy, building a cohesive digital plan, and growing grassroots efforts through coalition organizing and community outreach.
Melissa has experience developing advocacy campaigns focused on specific public policy and legislative goals at both the municipal and state level—in New York and around the country. She has helped clients succeed in legislative fights, grow their supporter bases, and increase their desired visibility.
Prior to joining Tusk Strategies, Melissa worked as a legislative researcher in the Alabama State Senate and also served as a law clerk in the Superior Court of Fulton County in Atlanta, GA. Melissa’s areas of experience include strategic communications and public policy advocacy.
Melissa received her B.A. in Political Science from Auburn University. She grew up in the Washington, DC area and currently resides in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. In her free time she enjoys reading and cooking.
