Beth DeFalco is one of the country’s top communications strategists, having worked for some of America’s most notable elected officials, public agencies, private foundations and news outlets. A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, she uses her extensive press and political experience to lead crisis communications, craft powerful messaging and manage complex media campaigns.

Before joining Tusk Strategies, Beth was the chief spokeswoman and communications lead for Bloomberg LP and Philanthropies’ U.S. Virgin Islands hurricane recovery efforts. She also worked on the 2018 Bloomberg Global Business Forum, convening more than 70 world leaders and 200 CEOs to address the global economic future.

Prior to that, Beth worked in New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration as the MTA’s Communications Director and chief spokeswoman for the New York City subway. She managed a 24-hour press operation, fielding dozens of daily media inquiries in the largest, harshest media market in the country and oversaw all public events, press statements, news conferences, speechwriting and social media content. She also served as a spokeswoman for Governor Cuomo directly on major infrastructure projects, including the $8 billion redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport and the New Year’s Eve opening of the Second Avenue Subway.

Previously, Beth served as the Communications Director to U.S. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, where she oversaw all communications for his U.S. Senate office and 2014 re-election campaign and helped manage Booker’s digital brand. On the media side, Beth has worked as a writer and editor for the Associated Press, New York Post, The Arizona Republic and The Denver Post.

Beth graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She lives in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood and is addicted to home improvement projects.
