Jake Sporn is a Senior Vice President who manages public affairs campaigns for Tusk’s New York practice, with a focus on political, media, and legislative strategy. He brings over a decade of experience in media, government and politics to our campaigns.
While at Tusk, Jake has led campaigns to secure impactful legislative and regulatory victories for clients including Latch, Bird Scooters, NYCLASS, and more. As a seasoned political media operative, he has ghostwritten and placed editorials for prominent elected officials, advocates and stakeholders that have been published in the New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, the NY Daily News, the NY Post, Insider, Fast Company and the Hill.
Most recently, Jake served as Press Secretary to Andrew Yang during his NYC Mayoral run where he executed the campaign’s ‘suck up all the oxygen’ strategy and oversaw nearly 150 press conferences and media availabilities. Prior to Tusk, Jake served as Communications and Policy Director for NYC Councilman Mark Levine where he ran the office’s press operation, in addition to working on a wide range of transportation, housing, healthcare and urban policy issues. He also executed a national media campaign highlighting the City’s first-in-the-nation “Right to Counsel” law, which guarantees legal representation for tenants fighting eviction in housing court. Before joining City Hall, Jake worked in the NYS Assembly, the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs & Worker Protection, and advised the campaigns of several candidates for federal, state and local office. He received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Fordham University’s College at Rose Hill.
