María Navarro Gallegos is a Senior Associate at Tusk Strategies. Her background in communications, government relations and campaigns combined with her keen understanding of the New York political system allows her to execute influential strategic campaigns for clients.

Prior to Tusk Strategies, María was a senior media strategist at Stu Loeser & Co., where she specialized in crisis and corporate communications for influential technology and political clients and their reputations in both New York and national media outlets. Leading all data analysis and Spanish-language communications, her work spanned from earned media and op-ed writing to business development strategy and rapid response/crisis communications. At 24, she was the youngest person named to City & State’s 2023 Political PR Power 50 List, ranked no. 12.

Her political experience began at New York lobbying firm Capalino, working primarily with nonprofits and issue-based campaigns. She developed a background in research and data analytics as an intern for the Center for Responsive Politics (OpenSecrets) in Washington, D.C.

María is a graduate of New York University, where she was one of 50 students to successfully lobby legislators on the Hill in support of Pell Grant expansions and volunteered on the successful GreenLight NY campaign. Born in Long Beach and raised in Bellflower, CA, she is a first-generation professional.
