Elissa Nation is a Fellow in the Tusk Washington D.C. office, supporting government and public affairs for a range of Tusk clients.

Before joining Tusk, Elissa worked for the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Leadership Institute to support committee operations under Ranking Member Jamie Raskin.

Elissa recently graduated from The University of Alabama with a Master of Public Administration and a B.A. in Political Science with minors in English and African American Studies. Elissa’s desire to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of her pursuits is expressed by her extensive involvement and community engagement. During her college experience, Elissa prioritized service in all aspects of her resume where her leadership and organizing produced many successful outcomes. She was elected as the President of the Lambda Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and the National Council of Negro Women. Moreover, she served as the Vice-President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the University of Alabama’s Honors College to help diversify and increase student enrollment within the Honors College. Lastly, she has also conducted research projects on local programs such as the Birmingham Promise through the Accelerated Masters Program at The University of Alabama.
