Emmett Werbel is a Vice President at Tusk, leading public affairs campaigns across a range of industries in New York and across the country.

Emmett specializes in designing and executing paid media strategies and grassroots campaigns to help generate pressure around his client’s issues. In 2023, he helped lead a 6-week sprint on behalf of the Motion Picture Association (MPA), which delivered a major expansion of New York’s Film and TV Production Tax Credit amongst significant opposition. Emmett also served as a senior strategist on Metro IAF-NY’s “Public Land for Public Good” campaign, which successfully pressured Governor Kathy Hochul to designate a piece of state land in Queens as one of the largest 100% affordable housing developments in New York City.

Before joining Tusk, Emmett was a campaign strategist at Millennial Strategies, a New York-based Democratic consulting firm. At Millennial, Emmett served as a campaign consultant for clients ranging from city council campaigns to major labor unions and NGOs. Through his role, Emmett built expertise in voter targeting, leveraging the latest available technologies to spend campaign dollars as effectively as possible. During the 2022 primary cycle, Emmett served as campaign manager for Suraj Patel for Congress, where he oversaw a multimillion dollar budget and dozens of paid staff and consultants.

A Vermonter, Emmett graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in American Studies, where he received the King’s Crown Leadership and Excellence Award for Civic Responsibility. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Bella, and is always looking forward to their next skiing or hiking adventure.
