Eric Soufer is a partner in the New York office where he manages the New York team, serves as the firm’s go-to crisis manager, and leads the firm’s Fintech and Advanced Tech practice. Eric has led successful bet-the-company legislative and litigation campaigns for high-growth start-ups and Fortune 500 companies in financial services, healthcare, education, insurance, cannabis, and transportation. He also served as the lead strategist for the only two major crypto companies to receive a coveted New York BitLicense since 2018.

His practice has been recognized by the New York Times, Bloomberg, Politico and other publications, where he is routinely cited as an authority on regulatory challenges facing a diverse array of industries. He was recently the only poltical operative in New York listed as a top consultant for both public relations and lobbying by the state’s leading policy magazine.

Prior to joining Tusk in 2018, Eric served as Senior Counsel and Head of Communications for two successive New York State Attorney Generals, where he oversaw the office’s investigatory and litigation battles with Exxon, Volkswagen, the Weinstein Company, FanDuel, AIG, and the Trump Administration. Eric also managed the successful, high-stakes campaigns to elect New York’s first woman Attorney General (Barbara Underwood) and first African-American Assembly Speaker (Hon. Carl Heastie), and create the first bi-partisan governing majority in the New York State Senate.

Eric received his BA from the University of Rochester and JD from the American University. He lives in New York with his wife and two boys.
