Alex manages public affairs campaigns for Tusk with a focus on policy and communications strategy in New York and New Jersey. He works on proactive engagements to pass legislation and regulation in fields as varied as AI and animal rights. He was previously Senior Policy Adviser for U.S. Senator Robert Menendez’s successful reelection campaign in 2018 where he led the formulation of policy positions and briefing materials for the Senator and key surrogates. His portfolio also included leading rapid response throughout the campaign and during the televised debate.
Earlier in his career, Alex was Senior Associate at Mercury. Among his several client engagements, he helped coordinate coalitions and press for a winning $1 billion statewide higher education bond referendum in New Jersey as well as for a coalition pursuing federal immigration reform. Alex also worked at the boutique law firm where he focused on securities and antitrust cases.
Recently, Alex served as the Democratic National Committee’s State Lead for Voter Protection in Indiana during the fall of the 2020 election. He helped assemble the statewide infrastructure to respond to instances of voter suppression. He also worked on Hillary for America’s presidential campaign, focusing on voter protection and vetting.
Alex received his J.D. cum laude from Fordham Law School, and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. Alex lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Megan.
